Time to say good-bye. As much as we are dedicated to our mission of building families, it is a bittersweet feeling when it comes to an end. But it is only the end of a chapter of a very, very large book. I know that Melissa will stay in touch with her Couple as will I. Safe travels my friends.
Huge welcome to Christine to the BFI Family!! She was getting the royal treatment, LOL, at Dr. Brooke Friedman’s office in Del Mar. SDFC has such a beautiful location and even more important, such a warm and caring staff.
Dr. May made Priscilla and I laugh when he said the baby’s heartbeat sounded like a choo choo train. Not just any train, but an old steam engine! LOL Priscilla has reached the 28 week mark!!! Looking great Priscilla!!

It is hard to believe that two weeks has passed since Melissa delivered! I saw this new family this past weekend and their smiles were so contagious. It made the rest of my day and week! Isn’t this sweet baby girl the cutest thing?!
Amazing news for Genette and her couple today! It’s a girl!!! She had her 20 week ultrasound today at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas which means that she is halfway there!!! Keep going girlie, you’re doing wonderful!!
Melissa has made dreams come true! She delivered this sweet little girl yesterday, bringing her couple the gift of family. Congratulations and great job Melissa!!!
In the dictionary next to the word “patience” is a picture of Melissa. She watched other Surrogate Mothers enter the program, get pregnant and celebrate their success while she patiently waited for her Couple to produce viable embryos. She could have switched to a different Couple but she was determined to see her Couple achieve success. Every month she would say, “I’m in this as long as they are.” After switching to a new clinic, success was theirs and it was sweet!!
She sailed through the pregnancy making it look so easy. And in the labor & delivery room, she was so calm it was hard to believe she was in labor. The nurses and doctor were so impressed…and so were we!! After just a few hours, a sweet baby girl arrived weighing 7lb 10oz and sporting the most hair we have seen in ages. Beautiful!!!
Erica helped a Couple complete their family on April 24, 2015 with the birth of their daughter. She came back a few months later saying she was ready to help another special Couple. And help she did!!! On February 24, 2017, a beautiful and perfect baby girl weighing a petite 6lb 9oz was born to her Couple.
Erica pointed out some fun facts about her BFI births. Both of her surrogacy pregnancies ended on the 24th of the month and they were both on a Friday. Wow, interesting! Will she go for a third? LOL!
The contribution Erica has made to these Couples can never be measured as the effects will be felt until the end of time. Congratulations Erica and God Bless You!!
