Ryan You Are One of the Best Hubbies In the World

Shannan - 02.01.2016Ryan you are one of the best hubbies in the world. Thank you for allowing me to share this with everyone! “I never made it public, but my wife delivered a healthy 6 lb 13 oz baby girl last night around 530pm. My wife was a surrogate and carried the baby for another family who could not have anymore children after the first. It was so surreal to be in the delivery room yesterday and watch my wife have this baby and then passed over to the baby’s parents. It is an unexplainable feeling for everyone. The intended parents are so gracious, so appreciative, so supportive and so loving. To hear them and see them cry in joy when they heard the baby cry for the first time was amazing. Witnessing life being brought into this world for another who couldn’t is an unexplainable top 5 event that will happen in my life.

My wife is an incredible person for taking on a pregnancy for 9 months, going through the entire process, delivering the baby and then not being able to take her home is an odd experience. My wife is so strong and to experience this has to have a completely stable mental capacity. I could never be the person my wife is. What she has provided for another family, is priceless. She goes home this evening.

To the parents; Shannan and I love you guys. Your support was incredible and we are so happy we were meant for each other. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to experience something not many get to experience. Enjoy your baby, we will never forget you, we look forward to a lifetime of friendship.

Matt and Nina. Thanks for being the first to introduce us to this. Even though it was unintended, it was an amazing process.
To anyone who that has thought about surrogacy, do it. You are a life creator.”

Shannan’s Surrogacy Story

It is not often that we hear about how the surrogacy journey has impacted the Surrogate Mother’s support team.  However, after Shannan gave birth to a 6lb 13oz beautiful baby girl on January 26, 2016, her husband, Ryan, posted about the experience from his perspective.  He ranked it as a top 5 event that will happen in his life.  We couldn’t agree more, Ryan!

Here is his post:

Jennifer’s Surrogacy Story

A minor misconception almost changed the destiny of three different families.  “I was naive and assumed that only single women who didn’t want to have their own children were Surrogates,” said third time Surrogate Mother, Jennifer.  Thankfully, a friend of Jennifer’s became a Surrogate and shed some light on the qualities that are necessary in being a successful Surrogate Mom.  And after hearing what a wonderful experience her friend was having, Jennifer joined the BFI family shortly after.

Seeing the immediate love and joy on the new parents’ faces was the highlight of all three of Jennifer’s surrogacies, including her final delivery on January 23, 2016.  Jennifer stated, “Helping a family in this way is very humbling and reminds you to be grateful for your own children.”

“I like educating people about surrogacy and changing other people’s perception about the process.”, said Jennifer when asked how her perception of surrogacy has changed over the years.  Clearly, these experiences have turned Jennifer into a champion for surrogacy.

Jennifer, you have changed the lives of 3 Couples and the world with the huge contributions you have made over the years.  You are a Superhero!!!

Mackenzie’s Surrogacy Story

It is important to start with the fact that Mackenzie is a second generation Surrogate Mother for Building Families.  Yes, that’s right, her mother, Rochelle, was a Surrogate Mother for us back in 2002 and again in 2004.  This in itself is a huge, huge compliment and one that there no words to adequately describe how amazed and proud we are of this fact!!
And then, the icing on the cake is that Mackenzie came in and helped a Couple who have had more struggles than any other Couple we have helped in the past many years.  She carried twins for them and she made it look easy!  December 26, 2015 marked the end of the struggles for this Couple and the beginning of a new life thanks to their angel.  Way to go, Mackenzie!!

Vanessa’s Surrogacy Story

Vanessa’s due date and her date of delivery was the same day.  This is very unusual for us.   But the date gave us great joy as it is a very fun day for kids in the US!!  Halloween!!

Yes, that’s right, October 31, 2015, Vanessa gave birth to a bouncing baby boy!!! This is a date we won’t ever forget.  Happy Halloween!!

Elaina’s Surrogacy Story

If possible, each of Elaina’s pregnancy were easier and easier!  Or maybe she just made it look easy?!  That is probably more like it.  Elaina delivered twins in January 2012, giving these new parents a gift that would last for endless generations to come.  She was grateful for the experience and went back to her busy life with her hubby and two kids.  Then one day she decided that her retirement from surrogacy was premature.  And no one was happier than her new Couple!  Because if not for her, their son would not be here!!  So, on October 2, 2015 she completed her surrogacy goals and help to realize another special Couple’s goal of parenthood!!  Way to go, Elaina!!

Nicole’s Surrogacy Story

Nicole’s desire to help others reached beyond her occupation of IVF coordinator for a major fertility clinic.  She met a Couple that pulled on her heartstrings and she knew she was supposed to help them have their family.  And that she did!!  After a years of trying to have their family, Nicole made their dreams come true with the birth of their daughter on August 28, 2015.  Way to go, Nicole!

Grandparenthood Revisited!

Hello All,

John and I are once again Grandparents!!  Our son and his wife, Johnny & Kim, had a baby boy on August 2, 2015 and they named him Hunter.

As we all know, things don’t always go how we would like or plan.  Unfortunately, Hunter required surgery within a day after his birth.  He is recovering and the doctors are pleased with the surgical outcome.  It is only time that is needed now for his healing.

We are lending them our support and love.  This means that I am not as easily available as I normally am.  I am working, but limited hours during this time.  I anticipate that I will be back to regular schedule within two weeks.  I am checking emails, but not able to take many calls as I am practically residing in the NICU.  If you require immediate attention, please call Shannon Breckner at (949) 434-3613 or if you need to speak with me directly please leave a message on our office line at (949) 588-6015 and Alexa will be able to reach me.  Or you can always email me.

Your patience is greatly appreciated and your prayers would be very welcomed!

Hugs,

Carol

Amber’s Surrogacy Story

Amber was accustomed to time differences with her first International Couple when she helped them have their daughter in July 2012.  She applied some things she learned from her first case to her new one as they, too, were international.  One thing she did which was truly wonderful, was schedule weekly Skype visits.  She surprised her Couple by scheduling a 4D ultrasound during one of those weekly visits.  The look on their faces was priceless!  Another beautiful journey ended on June 30, 2015, when Amber delivered another beautiful girl!
