A Blanket for Baby – Coming Soon!

Guess who is 23 weeks already?? It seems like we just had a positive pregnancy test! Congratulations Selena on passing the halfway point and doing it so gracefully!! Selena and Carol were in awe of how fast the mom-to-be could knit! She is making a blankie for her baby. Awwww!

SEEDS Fourth Annual Conference

The Society for Ethics in Egg Donation and Surrogacy – SEEDS Fourth Annual Conference is underway!! Carol will join other professionals, including Gail Sexton Anderson pictured with Carol below. They will discuss the current U.S. legislation for egg donation and surrogacy. The goal is to always make a difference but to avoid the many potential pitfalls while doing so. It is a collaboration of the many fields necessary for a successful outcome for the Intended Parents and their Egg Donors & Surrogate Moms.

Beauty in Science

This is what a perfect, hatching blastocyst looks like. It is amazing that such detail and clarity can be photographed of something microscopic!! And the second picture is what it looks like when it is placed in the uterus. The darker white area, by the arrow, is actually a capture of the medium the blastocyst is in as it is impossible to see the embryo with the naked eye. So fascinating!

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing!!

Jeri & Terry were super excited on transfer day. And they had good reason to be!! Jeri received a perfect blastocyst from the lab at Reproductive Partners Medical Group – Redondo Beach and is now in the waiting stage. Some say this is the hardest part, what do you think Jeri? Positive vibes sent your way Sweetie!!!

Watching the Kids Play!!

An outing with Annie’s family and mine. Genevieve and Hunter found a friend in Charisma. It is nice to have kids to play with the Surrogate Mom’s children again. Actually better than when mine were little. Grandchildren are the best!!

Goodbye – Not Forever, Just for Now!

Time to say good-bye. As much as we are dedicated to our mission of building families, it is a bittersweet feeling when it comes to an end. But it is only the end of a chapter of a very, very large book. I know that Melissa will stay in touch with her Couple as will I. Safe travels my friends.

Welcome Christine!

Huge welcome to Christine to the BFI Family!! She was getting the royal treatment, LOL, at Dr. Brooke Friedman’s office in Del Mar. SDFC has such a beautiful location and even more important, such a warm and caring staff.
