Erica’s year long wait for her Couple paid off big time! On June 26, 2008 she impacted so many lives when she gave birth to two healthy and beautiful babies. Emery Paige weighed a petite 4lb 8oz and her big brother, Montgomery John, weighed 6lb 5oz.
They say that pressure turns rocks into diamonds. Well, Tenia’s rocky start with the twin pregnancy sure produced two beautiful gems. June 4, 2008 marks the date Nick and David were born and also marks the happiest day of her Couple’s life. They weighed in at 5lb 5oz and 5lb 1oz, respectively.
Kristi was thrown off schedule by little Claudia’s one month early surprise arrival. But the biggest surprise was how big and healthy she was! On May 29, 2008, Kristi delivered a gorgeous baby girl named Claudia who weighed in at 6lb 8oz.
The hotel conference in Barcelona was terrific. The attendance was much higher than I had anticipated. As in Madrid, it was incredible to meet so many Couples who understood what Surrogacy is truly about. They didn’t view it as a means to an end. They were in awe of the Surrogate Mothers and had a genuine appreciation for them. Imagine my encountering this with Couples who had not even started the Program much less have had their baby already. It isn’t surprising really, because I have found in the many, many years that I have worked with Spanish Couples that they have treated their Surrogate Moms and all of us at Building Families’ staff with nothing but great care and respect. It is no wonder I look forward to my annual trip!!

Elena & Victoria were super comfy in Callie’s tummy. I’m sure she wondered if they would ever be born! But finally on March 25, 2008 they made their appearance weighing 5lb 5oz and 4lb 6oz, respectively.
Hello Everyone, I have been in Spain since late February enjoying the sites but mostly enjoying the many families I have seen. It is a dream that I seem to be living and I love it!! I saw Francisco & Hugo in the first few days. You’ll see pictures of them. Then I saw Jorge, Marta and her little brothers. Alejandro & Alvaro and I met some excited kids that were anxiously awaiting the birth of their new brother or sister. I met extended family too at several big reunions. It was neat to see how the children were ready to speak English with me. Jon Peter (Francisco’s cousin) was especially proud and you’ll see a picture of him and his new American friend (me of course!).
My trip to Madrid has confirmed the necessity of my traveling here to meet the Couples face to face so we can determine that my program is the right one for them. It also helps me a great deal in the matching. It is amazing how I can be sitting with them and a particular Surrogate Mom may come to my mind.
I’m off to Barcelona tomorrow and will update more after that trip. In the meanwhile, enjoy the pictures!

Kelly was her Couple’s Champion at every turn. Her diligence paid off on March 4, 2008 when she delivered two healthy babies!! Colton arrived weighing 6lb 7oz and his little sister, Regan, wasn’t far behind weighing 5lb 11oz.
Janine’s plan of delivering Aimar on her birthday was not to be. He must have heard his parents were coming into town and wanted to surprise them and everyone else with his arrival on March 2, 2008. He weighed a perfect 7lb 7oz.

I am sure many of you are shocked that I have a blog while others are wondering what took me so long! I have so much to share, as you can imagine, and waiting for the birth stories takes too long.

Erin was confident that she only needed a little nudge to get labor going, and just like clockwork the boys were born just a few hours later! Keith & John made their appearance on January 24, 2008 weighing 5lb 8oz and 5lb 14oz respectively.
