It was such a great luncheon with our Surrogate Moms! What a beautiful bunch of ladies. With all of the kiddos out of school, it was great to have some Mommy time. As you can imagine, most of the chatter was about our own children or our surrogate journey. It is so amazing to get together and talk with one another. The support that they all have for each other is a beautiful thing!

Surrogate Mom Christine had the most delicious celebration cake as she shared her birth story with us! Even though she was told how amazing this experience would be, she said it was better than she could have imagined. Her favorite part was when the brand new Father thanked her for allowing his wife to be right by her side during labor and the delivery of their new baby. This melted everyone’s heart!
¡La madre subrogada, Christine, tuvo la tarta de celebración más deliciosa cuando compartió su historia de nacimiento con nosotros! Aunque le dijeron lo increíble que sería esta experiencia, dijo que fue mejor de lo que podría haber imaginado. Su parte favorita fue cuando el nuevo padre le agradeció por permitir que su esposa estuviera a su lado durante el parto de su nuevo bebé. ¡Esto derritió el corazón de todos!
Medical clearance 101 for Surrogate Mothers – Don’t come hungry! Be sure to have a good meal and plenty of water prior to your appointment as they will be drawing blood. Do be prepared to get naked! The Dr. will perform a sonohysterogram, which is a procedure where a thin catheter is introduced through the cervix to the uterus. Ultrasound images are taken while the saline solution is injected into the uterus. A basic physical exam will also be performed.. Don’t forget to ask questions! Do get excited because…once cleared, the next step is your IVF protocol!!
Autorización médica 101 para madres sustitutas-¡ no vengan hambrientos! Asegúrese de tener una buena comida y un montón de agua antes de su cita, ya que será el dibujo de sangre. ¡ Prepárate para desnudarte! Aunque la primera transferencia de embriones no se realizó, no desalentó a la madre subrogada Amanda. Parte de la ansiedad se disipa porque, la segunda vez, sabes qué esperar y el proceso ahora es familiar. While the first embryo transfer didn’t take, it didn’t discourage Surrogate Mom Amanda. Some of the anxiety dissipates because, the second time around, you know what to expect and the process is now familiar.
